Welcome to Sip & Sketch! At Kismet we aim to provide a whimsical, safe and affordable way to meet new people and get out of your comfort zone, our Sip & Sketch does just that! At Sip & Sketch , you'll be paired with someone you've never met before and spend some time getting to know each other while sketching their portrait. The idea is not to get the most perfect portrait but rather to capture a little bit of the wonderful soul you just met, and hopefully make a new friend. Maybe it's their sense of humour, the stories they tell, their hobbies, or the energy they bring. However you interpret them is completely up to you. No artistic talent is needed. We welcome stick figures , questionable proportions and tons of colour, half the fun is seeing how differently everyone sees each other. We will provide prompts to get the conversation going but ultimately what you draw will be determined by where your conversation ends up. Your ticket includes one complimentary alcoholic or non-alcoholic drink from our selected menu to enjoy while you sketch, chat, and settle into the afternoon. All supplies are provided (pencils, erasers, pens, colourful markers and paper). At the end, you'll swap portraits and take home an original masterpiece, along with a few laughs and hopefully a new friend or two. Whether you're coming on your own or with friends, Sip & Sketch is all about slowing down, meeting new people, and creating a welcoming space for our queer community.
