Sip & Paint with Petya Bartosch Join us for a relaxed afternoon learning from the artist herself, Petya Bartosch. Surrounded by Petya’s striking photographs, you’ll be guided step by step in creating your own painting inspired by one of her images—a majestic baobab tree, photographed while documenting life with the Ju/’hoansi San Bushmen in one of the most remote corners of northeastern Namibia. Often called the “Tree of Life,” the baobab has long been revered across Africa. Its fruit is rich in nutrients, its bark and leaves have been used in traditional medicine for generations, and its immense trunk provides shelter, water storage and habitat for many species. A symbol of resilience, healing and community, it perfectly reflects the themes explored throughout the exhibition. As you paint, Petya will share stories from her time with the Ju/‘hoansi San - one of the world’s oldest living cultures - whose extraordinary knowledge of nature, tracking and survival has been passed down over thousands of years. Whether you’re an experienced painter or picking up a brush for the first time, this beginner-friendly workshop is designed to help you relax, learn new painting techniques, and enjoy the creative process. All materials, expert guidance, light refreshments and a glass of wine are included. We look forward to offering you a unique perspective on this meaningful exhibition and we are certain you’ll leave with far more than just a painting.
