HERITAGE DAY PICNIC 2026 BRING YOUR HERITAGE TO THE TABLE. One of Redhill’s most-loved community events is back. And this year, there are even more reasons to be there. On Wednesday 23 September , we’re bringing the Redhill community together on Outspan Field for an afternoon of incredible food, live entertainment, culture and connection. But this picnic has always been about more than a great afternoon together. It’s about what can happen when a community shows up. This year, every ticket purchased and every rand of profit generated by our Grade 8 food stalls will support two important Redhill outreach initiatives: our Grade 9 Camp Outreach Programme , and a project very close to our hearts: raising the funds needed to install a much needed and much longed-for borehole at Lulama Primary School . Redhill has supported Lulama in different ways for more than 20 years . A borehole would make a significant and lasting difference to the school community, providing something most of us rarely have to think twice about: reliable access to water. So when we say... EVERY BITE GIVES BACK. ...we really mean it!! And there will be plenty of bites to choose from. Our Grade 8 entrepreneurs have spent the term planning, budgeting, marketing and preparing their own food stalls, each representing a different country or culture. The Heritage Day Picnic is where all that learning comes spectacularly to life, and where the rest of us get to be their customers! Menus will be announced soon , so watch this space. You are also very welcome to bring your own picnic food, particularly if you or a family member has specific dietary requirements or allergies. Then find your spot on the field, settle in and enjoy an incredible line-up of entertainment on the Joburg Theatre mobile stage , including our famous Redhill marimba bands , with plenty more still to be announced. Because ultimately, this is what the Heritage Day Picnic is about. Different cultures. Different food. Different stories. One community, gathered around the same table.
