Mozart’s Coronation Mass 11 October 2026 | 18:00 St Thomas Anglican Church, Linden An evening of majesty, splendour and music fit for a crown. Laudem Dei Chamber Choir invites you to experience Mozart’s magnificent Coronation Mass in C major, K. 317 —a work celebrated for its radiant melodies, dramatic contrasts and unmistakable grandeur. From the jubilant opening of the Kyrie to the soaring brilliance of the Gloria and the reverent beauty of the Agnus Dei , Mozart’s music moves effortlessly between celebration and contemplation. Within the resonant setting of St Thomas Anglican Church, choir and instruments will unite to bring this timeless masterpiece vividly to life. The evening, however, extends far beyond the Mass. The programme journeys across centuries, cultures and musical traditions—from beloved sacred works and Mozart’s works of art to contemporary choral soundscapes filled with hope, peace and spiritual reflection. Audiences can also look forward to music rooted in South African identity, an Afrikaans celebration of light and hope, a tender musical blessing, and richly textured Nordic and Finnish works that move from ethereal stillness to vibrant harmonies and vocal percussion. Together, these works create a programme that is at once majestic, intimate, contemplative and joyfully alive.
