Sunday, 25 October 2026 08:30 start The ride will be 1.5 - 2hrs long Starting at The Hyde Hotel Address: 24 Cradock Avenue, Rosebank Join Johannesburg In Your Pocket, Banditz Bicycle Club and Girls on Bikes on the morning of Sunday, 25 October for a jacaranda-themed social cycle through some of Johannesburg's most tree-lined streets. Meet at Hyde Hotel in Rosebank from 08:30 for a 09:15 departure. The route heads out along Oxford Road, through Melrose and Illovo, and back to Rosebank – a relaxed 15–20km ride at a social pace, taking around 1.5 to 2 hours. This is a self-supported ride, open to riders of all levels, so bring your bike, bring your people, and enjoy the city together. Don't have a bike? You can hire one for R250.00 Simply arrive with your bike to take part! This event forms part of the annual #jacarandainyourpocket photo competition and event series. Before you saddle up, a few ride essentials: Eat something light; cycling is movement, and movement burns energy Bring water + a sweet snack to keep your sugar levels steady Let us know about any medical conditions ahead of time Wear sunscreen, sunnies, or a hat We roll out around 9:15 AM , so please be on time Bring a seat cover if you want some extra comfort; bike seats can be a bit harsh And just a heads up: rides are non-refundable unless weather cancels us out.
