Some comedians tell jokes. Aghmad Ismail tells stories that make you laugh, think, cringe a little, and then laugh again. In his debut solo stand-up show, Aghmad shares hilarious and deeply personal stories about growing up with a visual impairment, navigating family life, Cape Flats culture, awkward encounters, loss, resilience, and trying to make sense of a world that often misunderstands people who don't fit its expectations. With razor-sharp wit, disarming honesty, and a unique perspective on everyday life, Aghmad finds humour in everything from disability and dating to culture, work, and the strange things people say and do when they meet someone they perceive as different. Along the way, he reveals what those reactions often tell us about the people behind them. Heartfelt, thought-provoking, and laugh-out-loud funny, When They Think You're Not Looking is a comedy show about resilience, human nature, and what people reveal about themselves when they think no one is watching. Because sometimes the people who see the least notice the most. Book now and join Aghmad Ismail for his debut solo comedy show.
